Clover Configurator is compatible with macOS 10.6+, and it’s an easy-to-use application that is designed for Hackintosh enthusiasts. You’ll be able to create your own custom configuration files with Clover, and this will help you with the Clover EFI.
Using a graphical interface, Clover Configurator eliminates a lot of the issues with creating configuration files.
How Clover Configurator Works
When you launch the application, the application will start a search for configuration files that are already available. If a match is found, it will be much easier to configure your system. You’ll be able to view the configuration files, and then the application will search for the newest Clover EFI.
A bootloader will then also be installed, and this means getting Hackintosh working much faster.
The app will provide you with two main functions:
- Tools for customization
- Parameter customization for Clover EFI files
If you’re new to Clover EFI files, the app makes it as easy as possible to get started. Utilizing a graphical interface, you’ll be able to:
- Modify ACPI parameters
- Change your boot mode
- Modify your CPU performance
- Disable drivers and other items that you may not want running
You’ll also be able to click and install all of your UEFI drivers, including 32bit and 64bit options. The Clover theme can be changed, and you’ll also be able to mount an EFI drive.
After adjusting all of the settings and getting everything customized exactly how you want it to be, you’ll be able to create a configuration file. This file makes it easy to have your Clover EFI bootloader up and running.
Why would you need Clover Configurator?
You’ll have better control over your system’s bootloader, and since your system hasn’t been designed to run macOS, this is very important. You’ll be able to gain better control of your bootloader, and this is done without any complex commands and with fewer errors.
Keep in mind that Clover will provide an automatic configuration, but there will be some issues, as automatic generation isn’t always perfect. There are full and minimal configuration files provided, and this is a very good starting point for your configuration file.
Once generated, you’ll want to customize and edit the configuration files as needed, and this will allow for a truly custom install.
Keep in mind that you’ll want to customize the parameters that you understand. If you don’t understand some of the parameters, leave the rest as-is and try to boot up your Hackintosh. If the system doesn’t boot, you’ll need to continue to make adjustments to your configuration files until it’s up and running properly.
