for some reason, 0.9.8 isnt showing up in cydia for me.
Awesome, worked first time!
Kinda, still some bugs
No, did not work
for some reason, 0.9.8 isnt showing up in cydia for me.
Is there a forum member who could answer this for me? It seems as if ys .9.8 is only available through cydia, unless im doing something wrong. and when i had it installed, what had happened was it didn't recognize the sim. So to fully activate ys when installed thru cydia, you must perform a network reset? and then it wont give you any problems after that?![]()

no
network reset is not required
it is best to set up as new iPhone, instead of restore from backup when you finish restoring to FW 2.2
then using quickpawn 2.2 you can activate, which means cydia and installer will be on your iPhone
then you use Cydia to add a source:
apt9.yellowsn0w.com
AFTER that you can install yellowsn0w 9.8, it wont show up unless you add the source apt9.yellowsn0w.com
you then restart the phone and use whatever sim you want
try following the tutorial at iClarified.com
if you already did all that
try taking the phone back to an Apple Store and have it replaced on warranty for whatever it is that is broken.. that is, IF you have an ATT Sim and it does not recognize it.. (I think you may have a hardware problem..)
i tried a different method, still get the invalid sim message upon coming out of auto airplane mode, then it goes to tmobile... im beginning to think that only certain models work good... and if i go to the apple store, i can exchange it, its just that i might get a 2.30.00 and thats kinda what im trying to avoid...is there another way around this? It seems as if 9.6 is a little more stable... but i keep restoring and re-unlocking and it still does that to me and i know that if i go to the apple store they'll issue me out a new 2.30 iphone that cannot be unlocked... am i just sol? (s* out of luck)
but i do have an att sim and it does recognize it so i think it might just be the phone itself... only so many things i can try... restore, rejailbreak, maybe i should restore from backup???? my last iphone was so much better at the unlock than this one was...

Awesome! Yellowsnow 0.9.7 worked perfectly and so does 0.9.8
:-)
Can't tell you guys how grateful I am!!!
0.9.8 is back to the top quality for me. Nice fast boot, quick network search times and no airplane mode/wifi nastiness.
Thanks guys, great job.
Same for me. Installed yellowsn0w from cydia. Installed my wifes T-mobile sim card in to my AT&T 3G iPhone. Turned the phone off by holding down the power button & the home button, then slide to turn off. Then hit the power button again, the iPhone turns on then re-booted and began searching... and then T-mobile pops up.
THAT EASY.........
THANKS DEV TEAM.............:![]()

So sad it doesn't work on 2.2.1 yet.
Hi guys I have installed the Wellows0w v0.98 end it works fine for me,I have Locked Iphone 3g at Vodafone Portugal now its unlock, but Iīm having some problems after unlock with wellowsn0w the application Installer does not Opem end the duration of my battery is poor about one day after unlock with wellowsn0w and I canīt activate the pin option because if I reboot the iphone is lock again or it does not get any singnal on network.
> the duration of my battery is poor about one day after unlock with wellowsn0w
that sounds about normal. Turn off 3G when you dont need it, turn off wifi when you dont need it, and most effective, slide screen brightness down to about 20%. I still only get about 1.5 days on my iPhone between recharges.
> and I canīt activate the pin option
correct, yellowsn0w does not support pin locking, you are normal
congratulations on your unlock
