yellowsn0w in Panama

Given that both Movistar (Telefonica) and Movil (C&W) are giving SIM's that require PIN, the current version of yellowsn0w 0.91 will not work. If you have an old SIM you are in luck. Everyone else will just have to wait until a new version arrives. I'll test it with a Digicel SIM later on today. Cheers, CEB

I have movistar SIM without PIN... I manage to get signal but lost it after I tried to call...
so far no better success... still trying

edit1: managed to get everything working fine... tested and it was working very fine. Then I wanted to restart to see what happens... now the same story, can not get network..

Seems like yellowsn0w is close to deal with 2.28 but still not close enough

Panama Movistar - I manage to learn how to get signal:
1. network restore (goes to restart)
2. waiting 1 minute (sim inside/no signal)
3. take sim out - turn on airplane mode - put sim in - 10sec - airplane mode off
4. I get the signal

The bad thing is that CALLS ARE NOT WORKING !!!

It's not possible...
C&W don't accept no pin on chip...
Movistar no problem...
And Digicel idem to Movistar...

They will not remove it... It's their corporate policy.

it's possible to unlock with yellowsn0w even with the PIN active

mine is working on C&W

can you describe how you did it? according to the release notes yellowsn0w is not working with PIN active SIM's.

my statement was wrong, it is not possible to unlock with SIM-with-PIN but it is possible to use it after you unlock it with SIM card that doesn't have PIN code

so, first you get network with nonPINed SIM card (prepaid Movistar can do) and then change with any other simcard...

always when you reboot iPhone, you need that nonPINed SIM in iPhone to get the signal first...

ok got it just tested like that and it works, incoming and out going calls, however is not letting me send SMS with the C&W SIM, have you try SMS?
