The reason you are getting Illegal option for -q is because you are probably using the latest version of yellowsn0w and the command -q is not there any more. You have to use -l .

I'm getting "Unknown message (0xe3ff8000) " when I enter yellowsn0w -q

UPDATE: Well, after closing the Mobile Terminal app after unsuccessfully executing the second command the phone showed full bars next to T-Mobile!

Outgoing calls work.
Incoming calls work.
Data works.
SMS works.
Everything works! WOO HOO!!!!
