I unlocked my iphone with yellowsn0w 0.9.6 , But i could not get my tmobile sim to work on it.
It picks up the signal and shows T-Mobile, but no calls, no txt messages work.
I tried using terminal app, yellows0w -r, -c, -a but it did not work(it picks carrier but nothing works).
My sim series is ocs_2.3, and i am in NYC area.
My 3g is turned off always.
I read somewher like you can do with ssh.

If you out there know how to fix this problem, please help me.

it should work.... restore and re unlock.... it will work.. reboot a few times

Thanks kkankeswar.But I tied it ...restoring, jail break and activate, then unlock it.It picks the carrier name.But nothing works on the phone.

any other ideas??

after unlock, make sure you get enough carrier signal. Try to go outside where no blockage of buildings and then try to restart. Wait till the searching's done and show up the Tmobile logo. Then try to make a call or text.

hey i have a 3g iphone.. i have unlocked for Tmobile and its working perfectly...and i have the latest sim... and latest yellowsn0w almost has no bugs for tmobile usa... im in boston if u come anytime ill try to help for free dun worry....

Are you on firmware 2.2 with baseband 02.28.00 ?

It is on 2.2 and 2.28.
I think there is something wrong with this iphone.I got my friends ATT sim card and even it is not working.Who ever sold me on ebay sold a junk piece.

I will get a second iphone and then try again.....

Maybe its already a hardware unlocked version (wired from inside) and there is no way to unlock via yellowsn0w

but if this is already unlocked then my t-mobile is not working if i just insert the sim init after activation.
If i unlocke it, it is recognizing the t-mobile, but no calls.

I just inserted an legitimate iphone att sim in it and it is working.I unlocked it and then also iphone is working with att sim,but if i insert tmobile sim, it shows carrier name, but no calls.

If this is hardware unlocked, what are my other options? can i use turbo sim to do this?

if the phone is "hardware unlocked" (meaning they wired the proxy SIM such as x-sim inisde the phone), you can open the phone and remove the wiring.

You can try to ask your ebay seller nicely if he has any history of phone.
