Default Vodafone UK pay monthly anyone?

Has anyone had any success with the unlock for 3g iphone with vodafone UK monthly contract?
I can't get anything better than 'NO SERVICE', and usually the 5 dots...
There don't appear to be any errors and yellowsn0w is running (phone restored to 2.2 through itunes, etc).
Have tried rebooting with all services off etc.
Would like to hear of a successful method on this sim if it's out there...

I am using a Vadafone UK pay monthly SIM and it works for me.
    I have a 16GB 3G Phone with 2.2 and Yellowsn0w 0.9.4
I re-booted the phone with the Vodafone SIM installed and waited. It took about 30 seconds for the signal and the logo to appear.
I did not have to re-insert the SIM or turn off 3G or toggle WiFi

    Thanks for replying.
Did you do a fresh restore of the official 2.2 using itunes or use a custom firmware?

I have an O2 account too and the strange part is that the O2 sim won't work either.
Now I'm thinking that the problem might be because I previously activated the phone officially on this pc and now itunes remembers that and is doing something I don't want it to when I restore...

I have an O2 account and activated mine through itunes too so I don't think that is the problem. I think different phone have different problems. Whilst mine works with vodafone and O2 I cannot now switch on bluetooth even with the O2 SIM installed.

I'm using Voda contract UK and yellowsn0w is working for me.
I have to either take my sim out and put in back in, or switch airplane mode on and off, after every reboot. But get a working signal every time.

    Are you using 0.9.5?

    Ok - working!
Started getting 'Searching...' coming up for longer than before after playing around in terminal and using airport mode or sbsettings.
The solution seemed to be to run yellowsn0w -r then yellowsn0w -c. Then go and turn airport mode on and off. This caused the 'Searching...' text to appear and the 'Carrier' menu appears in Settings (keep this open from turning on aiport mode). And it connects...
I'm sure I've tried this exact same method before today as it's well documented on this site so am not 100% sure why it's working now... in fact, I can now reboot and all I need to do is turn airplane mode on and off - this definately didn't work before.
At one point I tried the yellowsn0w -s option which appeared to do nothing, but has maybe helped in some way...
