I confirmed my sim works in my old tmobile phone. My rebelsim was the way it was working before. That craps out after a few days and I have to resetup the sim.
I followed the instructions to the letter as far as restoring the 2.2 and not activating. I QP the phone and run the cydia as it states but I get no bars. I even add the wap.voicestream.net as the cellular data network -
I had the wrong name for the cellular network - took that out and I am going strong babey!
Geo Location: Kosova
Network: VALA GSM
Device: iPhone 3G 16GB
Firmware Version: 2.2 (5G77)
Modem Firmrware: 02.28.00
Yellowsn0w Version: 0.9.5
Cydia: Latest Version
The yellosn0w has succeeded but every time that I restart the iPhone then I have problems to connect, I switch on/off airplane mode but nothing.
1. update iPhone to firmware 2.2 but dont activate in iTunes
2. quickpawn the phone to add cydia
3. use cydia to get yellowsn0w
I think most failures are due to people not understanding step 1
What do you do if you activated your phone with iTunes? Can you deactivate it and reactivate with QwickPwn?
restore, then quickpwn
