Yellowsun with Airtell India.

Am thinking of getting a phone down and unlocking for use with my airtell phone.

In the other posts. A refrence is made to put in the orignal sim ?

Suppose I only get the phone no sim card with it.
Can I still unlock ? And use my Sim ?

Just one last doubt.
Heard they are updating all their phones. i.e. new phones will come with new firmware.

Somebody about yellow will only work if the baseband is bellow a certain number.
Should I be worried ? i.e. say I get the phone and it has a new baseband which yellow dont support is there a way for me to downgrade it ?

so if the sop is selling a phone with firmware 2.2.1 then I should not buy it as it wornt work.
If its runing an earlier version of the firmware i.e. 2.2.0 then I can buy the phone. And yellowsnow it.

Sorry but this is a lot of money and I cant afford to goof it up.

Im pretty sure apple would have taken out a circular to all its shops and business partners not to supply the phone without an update. So chances of finding a phone with the old firmware are going to be slim to none.

Apple store will not hand over phone without upgrading the firmware.

So my question is
What are the chances that the Dev team will be able to hack the new phones ?

High low or nill.
Ps: If it cant be hacked I wont buy it.

Proud owner of a new 3G. The 2G goes to the wife.
Found a guy in the UK who knows somebody who runs a o2 showroom.
Picked up a Black 16G for 397 Quid
They gave it to him with 2.2 and explained how to hack it and upgrade it lol.

I gave up on waiting to find a mac and quick pawned it.
Installed Yellow snow .98 and im now using my air tell sim.

Turn 3G off and its all working.
