yellow snow - bit of a strange one

Hi - can anyone help

I brought a 3G iphone of someone which was a o2 uk one.

I jailbroke it and installed yellowsn0w and everything was working fine. orange sim

However after 3 days 02 blocked the iphone and also blocked the "persons sim card who i brought it off"

He rang o2 who made a mistake said they will unblock both the phone and the sim.

Today afternoon i tried my orange sim and it kept saying No service, i then tried a 02 sim which worked fine.

I have now restored factory settings, jail broke it and installed yellowsn0w but i still get No Service.

Could someone please give me anything else i can do.

Or maybe they are doing an imei filtering by not letting the imei to join networks other than O2...

any chance you could try any other orange sim?

I get exactly the same thing - a consistent "No Service" with my Vodafone SIM. Do you also get a "Restricted Network" message if you try to manually select your Orange network? There's some interesting reading about that here:

...but still no solution. If it is an IMEI issue, does that mean the phone is a write-off?

It could be that your iPhone was reported to be a stolen one and now it is blacklisted.

can some one please help i have reset my sons 2g to factory settings and then reinstalled flashed with itunes and quick pwn
everything was working fine unlocked everything but 2 days later i cant use the keypad on the phone to make calls it will recieve and let me answer all other functions are fine music camera maps etc just the damn touch pad on the phone seems to have locked its self
any way of sorting it would be appreciated :mad:

@riksta:so did you try another orange sim?

did tou diable the pincode of your sim-card? Yelloowsn0w does not support a pincode yet.

No pin number on simcard and i have tried a different simcard. Still doesnt work

I think o2 have blocked all the other networks except o2, is this possible ?
