I've been reading up some blogs and it is possible that certain Tmobile USA SIM does not work (calling out). From MuscleNerd's twitter:
Those numbers are on the back of your tmobile SIM card (printed horizontally at the edge)Quote:
Just was talking with MN dude. His newer TMob failed but his older TMob version 37.05A worked. My 38.01e works too
For those that cannot make outbound call after yellowsn0w, can you report your number
i too cannot make outbound calls after yellowsn0w..
do you see other number that is printed perpendicular to those number.
On my old Sim card it looks like:
OCS_2.3 and 37.05A
Just got it today for testing purposes. Got signal only twice, but lost when I attempted to make a call.
perp (also last) #
nothing that looks like "OCS_2.3 and 37.05A"
Tried other T-Mobile SIM ver OCS_2.3 and it works fine.. Switch back to 525033 and it get 0 bars/no T-Mobile logo and fails on outbound calls. run term yellowsn0w -r and -q and get bars and logo back - incoming calls fine.. outbound calls still not working.
Have you guys tried editing your "org.iphone-dev.yellowsn0w.plist". I had the same probelms, T-mobile logo showing up then disappearing, losing bars, and no incoming and out going calls. Then I edited the file per instructions and it still didn't work because I used wordpad to edit it. The second time I used ultraedit which does not convert the file to dos format, and then it worked. Incoming and outgoing both work and edge works also(I have the former $5.99 plan).
You can download my edited file here: http://rapidshare.com/files/17893146...sn0w.plist.zip
If you are in the U.S. and are trying this with T-Mobile, you must turn off the 3G switch in Settings. Also if you are good with the command line, you can make it much easier by adding the line <string>-q</string> right after the /usr/bin/yellowsn0w line in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.iphone-dev.yellowsn0w.plist (that’s and advanced tip, hopefully someone will make a boosprefs type of tool for it)
I tried messing around with it in the terminal, but in all honesty I had no idea what I was doing. Right now after about half an hour, it displays No Service rather than the no bars.
I don't like talking on the phone anyway and the iPhone gets used pretty much for data, but it would still be nice to make a utilitarian call now and again without resorting to swapping my SIM into my wife's Samsung Stripe (UGH FLIP PHONE).
But I'm just glad to be able to browse my forums and CraigsList from anywhere. :D
yeap, my sim is 89012 and no go. Logo until I want to make a call.
:S Any results?
