Well instead of being "software" unlocked, it was probably factory unlocked therefore all GSM carriers can be used on that iPhone no matter what firmware/baseband is installed.Quote:

ok if devteam r gonna make a customized FW for 3.0 with 2.28 BB; how about us with 02.30 BB ? i mean r we gonna be stuck with that thing forever or what ?
The Dev team's first choice is to unlock BB 4.2x that will come with FW 3.0 but if they can't do that then they will try and get FW 3.0 working with BB 2.28.00 If they have to do that they will then probably continue working on 4.2x until they find a solution as that would benefit more people and you would be able to upgrade to that when/if they unlock it. There are no guarantees on anything which is why they advise people not to upgrade from BB 2.28

i can make iPhone unlocked by itunes, i try it already but only works on australia vodafone... anyone know how to make a factory unlocked for iPhone which is currently locked?
That website is a SCAM - avoid it like the plague.
If you're phone is locked to Vodafone in Australia they will unlock it for you. Not sure what the terms are or how much you have to pay but if I was you I would phone them and find out!
