iphone 3g 2.2.1 firmware with 02.08.01 baseband unlock??

hello

i recently got my iphone 3g replaced as the wifi stopped working
it came with the factory settings on the phone and tried jailbreaking and unlocking it it pwnage tool 2.2.5 and yellowsnow and upgraded it to 2.2.1 firmware but kept the baseband the same thinking it would unlock but to no avail

so i was wondering if there is a way to unlock it as it is or would i need to update the baseband and if so how would i do it?

Noone has replied because you are quite unclear...

If you have 2.30 baseband with 2.2.1 firmware then yellowsn0w does not work... you would require a turbosim (check out turbo-sim threads). Be careful since MANY people on eBay sell out of date turbosims for low, attractive prices.

If you have 2.28 baseband with 2.2.1 firmware but yellowsn0w didn't work then you can RESTORE to 2.2 firmware and try running the same procedure you did the first time, but hopefully this time it will work.
