am I the only one who is experiencing this? freakin edge won't turn off. I've tried bossprefs, sbsettings, native Settings app......... it just doesn't want to budge, but, amazingly, it does turn off after a lot of tries, but then the cell signal is reduced to a one liner!!!!!! what???? and if I turn it back on its full bars............... HELP!
Thats a good sign. I notice that too when i turn off my edge in bosspref. i have weak signal or somtimes nothing. Especially after reboot. So now, i keep it ON to get more signal.
Are you turning it off cuz you dont use it cuz you dont want to be charged for.... if that's so go to Settings-->General---> Network---> Cellular Data Network and then write some letter on the apn field.... done... no more edge.Quote:

you can not turn off Edge because you are not in flight mode. First go into flight mode, then turn off edge in bossprefs. And then i hope for you it will work for you as it worked for me.Quote:

guys there is a serious issue with 0.96, as well as 0.95 regarding edge. I have an 2.2 3g bought from at&t, and, trying cosmote in romania does work, I mean the unlock behaves VERYYY WELL. But edge is a different story however................. u know that small blue dot that resembles edge right next to the carrier? it stays ON no matter what!!!!

And, for example, turning edge on in bossprefs, sends my phone into airplane mode, and then 5 dots, and then regains signal with the blue dot still there of course. When I turn it off though, it does the same thing, airplane and 5 dots and getting back to proper signal, but the freakin blue dot IS STILL THERE!!! what is wrong with my iphone?
could someone please edit this post to 0.96? the issue is the same even with this one............
