have you logged in with terminal or ssh and ran yellowsn0w to see what it says?

thats the biggest problem trying yellowsn0w from Terminal .. when i type any yellowsn0w command ( ex. yellowsn0w -s or -t or just yellowsn0w .. the terminal halts .. and no response at all ) !!

now thats an interesting problem....

Just upgraded to 2.2.1, jailbreak with PwnageTool on Mac (DFUfix!), unlock with Yellowsnow.
Baseband: 2.28.00
Bootloader: 6.02
So, bootloader doesn't matter.

yes the official sim works great .. but i got the iphone from egypt and i dont even live there :s !! i got it a a present and am stuck with it ..

Have you tried not activating it with the official sim first? Restore to 2.2 (not 2.2.1) and then close itunes, do not allow itunes to activate it officially. Then use quickpwn to jailbreak and activate it, then do the cydia and yellowsnow thing and see what happens.

yes :S !! the problem isn't the Activation .. my problem is that Yellowsn0w halts .. it doesn't even function on my iphone .. even running it manually and i already have unlocked my frieds iphone but with bootloader 5.08 .. and it worked amazing like magic .. but on my iphone it didn't ..

i remember that i had that problem with yellowsn0w .94 or something when i first got my 3g and after awhile i just kept restoring it and it finally worked but i think your problem is a lil more troubling

looool my warranty is all good but am not gonna tell them fix my iphone it doesn't work with yellowsn0w !! yellwsn0w is the only thing that didnt work !!

I cannot get yellowsn0w to work, I have another phone here with the exact same setup except BL 5.08 and it works fine.

My question is how did BL 5.09 get installed when the baseband is still 2.28?
