sorry this might be in the wrong section but i couldnt find it. i just got an iphone 3g it was factory reset so its not like i could use the wifi or anything to use cydia? so im trying to unlock it but when i hook it up with my t mobile sim it doesnt work. duh. how do i unlock it factory reset and no at&t sim?

Try this first:

or if you are on a mac this
iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G on OS 3.1.2 Using PwnageTool (Mac)

then this
iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock the iPhone 3G, 3GS Using UltraSn0w

be sure to turn off 3G (if you are using t mobile in US)

Don't install OS 3.1.2 unmodified from Apple if you can help it.
