    Default My wireless drops out

    Hi, Please can you help.

I have followed the following steps successfully but once I enter in the command at step 7, the wireless connection drops on my iphone and does not complete the command. This happens everytime...

    Guide on the net:

    1. Download Mobile Terminal from Cydia.
    2. Download the file from this post, uncompress it and upload the files via SSH to /var/root/
    3. Open Mobile Terminal
    4. Type in: su
    5. Type in the password: alpine
    6. Type in: chmod 755 BBUpdaterExtreme
    7. Type in: launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
    8. Type in: ./BBUpdaterExtreme update -f ICE2_02.28.00.fls -e ICE2_02.28.00.eep
    9. Reboot your iPhone
    10. Now your iPhone must be in the 02.28.00 baseband!
    11. You can check it in Settings>General>About

With WinSCP, I have copy three files incl BBUpdaterextreme in the var/root/ of my Iphone. But i am stuck at step 7.

Could you please help me on this?

Hello. You have to execute that commands through MobileTerminal on iPhone or through iPhoneTunnelSuite on your PC with USB cable connected to iPhone. Not through WiFi WinSCP!!!
When you've disabled CommCenter, you've automatically lost your WiFi connection.

Before any of you attempt to downgrade your baseband to 2.28.00 on your iphone 3G, you must understand that this will only work with iphone 3G with BB bootloader 5.8 (on early phones).

So before you try it, verify your bootloader version.
Search the forum for how to check this using minicom and AT command set - see here http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f187/70368.htm - post #7

dude, just freakin update to 3.0. there is an UNLOCK AND A JAILBREAK FOR IT. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO GO TO LOWER SOFTWARE?

because cydia is buggy, or what?

guess what, its not buggy at all with the latest update, and, developers need TIME to update their apps for the new os, SO LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
(sorry if I totally misunderstood you, but I have a hunch thats your case. maybe im wrong.)

    Yes .
And if you use redsnow 0.7.2 - do not select both Cydia and ICY because Cydia will encounter dpkg error when run. ONLY select Cydia.

After that, if you want ICY, you can install it via Cydia
