Hmm you checked the space on both / and /var/ ? If so that's odd that it didn't take up space...

Nevertheless, the files in this thread work

Will this also work if I want to downgrade the baseband to an earlier version?

to downgrade you need the .eep and .fls of the baseband version you want
Get the latest info for NoAccSplash Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x
If you'd like to help extend its functionality, the source is also available.

    Thanks!
So it is possible to downgrade the base band using bbupdater extreme?
I asked this on another post and the answer was "no".
Have you tried it yourself? \

Default Baseband update 02.28.00 no restore - yellowsn0w related issue

    Hi everyone,

I have recently updated my firmware to 2.2 version and jailbreak my Iphone 3G with Quickpwn 2.2 with succes. My problem is that even with the upgrade of the firmware to 2.2, my baseband still on old version 04.05.04_G instead of 02.28.00 last version.
Of course, this is an issue to use Yellosn0w and desimlock my Ihpone 3G.

I have found on the net a guide to update baseband only to 02.28.00 with no restore of firmware (see below), but in the middle of the process I have a issue with BBUpdaterExtreme:

cannot access’BBUpdatrerExtreme’: No such file or directory

    Guide on the net:

    1. Download Mobile Terminal from Cydia.
    2. Download the file from this post, uncompress it and upload the files via SSH to /var/root/
    3. Open Mobile Terminal
    4. Type in: su
    5. Type in the password: alpine
    6. Type in: chmod 755 BBUpdaterExtreme
    7. Type in: launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
    8. Type in: ./BBUpdaterExtreme update -f ICE2_02.28.00.fls -e ICE2_02.28.00.eep
    9. Reboot your iPhone
    10. Now your iPhone must be in the 02.28.00 baseband!
    11. You can check it in Settings>General>About

With WinSCP, I have copy three files incl BBUpdaterextreme in the var/root/ of my Iphone. But i am stuck at step 6.

Could you, please, help me on this?

    Many thanks for your help.

I just want to confirm that this method worked fine for me!
I just upgraded the 2.11.07 baseband to 2.28.00 without restoring. yellowsn0w does its job and all the apps/settings remained on the phone.

Instead of "Mobile Terminal" I used putty (as I could Copy/Paste the commands that way)...the process took me about 3-5 minutes.

Check Update Baseband to 02.28.00 without resotring! / Actualizar Baseband a 02.28.00 sin restaurar! App’s Earth out to download the files (the new baseband) which you have to SSH to /var/root/.

    Hi my friends.

I'm having an issue with the wi-fi settings. It is greyed out and I am unable to click it to change the settings. When I go to Settings> General> About- Wi-Fi Address: N/A. I tried to restart and restore it but didn't seem to fix it. I also updated the firmware which also didn't fix it. Is there program available to fix this?

I do all steps and methods as possible (restore, reset, reset network settings, forget network, erase data, turn off and turn on) and final result: NOTHING. My wireless stay or NO WIFI (grey) or no list network wifi or list but dont connect.

My firmware is 2.2 and my baseband 02.28.00.

One question: Using this process I do the reflash of baseband?

    Sorry by my english
