Many people are having problems because they activated their iphones using itunes. DO NOT do that. After upgrading you baseband using the official 2.2 firmware, create a custom firmware making sure to select the activation option. Use this firmware to restore your iphone but make sure to disconnect the iphone before itunes recognizes it and activates it.

That's it all WILL WORK fine!!!!

hey! im having this problem and want to try out your method...however, how do i create a custom firmware with windows? u cant do that with quickpwn...and winpwn doesnt support 2.2 firmware yet...how would i go about doing this?

it doesnt work....i tried it 3 times with the same result. ... still locked.

still says no service...

I just tested it again and it works like a charm. Couple of things to watch out for.

1. Make sure that you have already updated your iPhone with the original 2.2 firmware so that your baseband is 2.28.00

2. Make sure that you have selected the activation option when creating your custom firmware.

3. Make sure that you disconnect the iPhone as soon as iTunes is done with the restore before the iPhone reboots and is detected and subsequently activated by iTunes.

how do i create custom 2.2 FW on windows?

you can not at the moment!!!
if you need 2.2 FW with 02.11.07 BB the you have to use Pwnage tool on a MAC.

If you need 2.2 FW with 02.28.00 BB then you can just update or restore your iphone thru iTunes with the latest FW and use QuickPwn 2.2 to Activate and Jailbreak it under windows.

My phone was already activated with Rogers Canada. Yellosn0w did not work for me, tried many different solutions.

I havent tried the custom firmware yet, could someone please post a custom firmware 2.2 without the activation ?

alright here are my results :

i tried every single method and nothing worked.

However, when i ran the command ps -e (as mentioned in the post)

then did airplane mode on/off

it worked !!!!
