Discuss Winpwn error 5 at the Winpwn - Hackint0sh.org; Hi all, i been doing this for couple of hours i try three different computers ...

    Exclamation Winpwn error 5

    Hi all, i been doing this for couple of hours i try three different computers also...

    i successfully built the custom firmware but after putting in the DFU mode and restoring the custom firmware... i m getting error (5).. what is this suppose to mean.... is anybody getting this error or any solution any idea??

    now i back to original firmware i had to restore it... i was too tired doing of this.

    have you run the ipwner??

    Are you sure the error is #5 and not #6.
    Chances are about 99% + 99% that you were not in DFU mode .. only in restore .. that's what causes this problem

    Make sure you are in DFU not recovery mode

    So error #6 means that its not on DFU mode? When you are in DFU mode is do you see the itunes icon and a usb picture on the iphone? Becuase thats what I get. I dont know if Iam in the DFU mode or reovery.

    UPDATE: I even get that error when I want to install FW. 1.1.1

    new1phone: error #6 was because he wasn't in DFU.

    Theirs a small [DFU] link in my signature below, it will help you make sure you're in DFU correctly

    hmm i m not quiet sure..let me see any good tips for DFU mode..... i m restoring the original one again....
