So i did everything in here
1. issue i cant get the ipod into DFU.... wenn i do the screen is black but once i start up itunes the screen bekomes white and the Apple Itunes + Kable logo appear...
Im using Firmware 1.4 Itunes Version 7.7.0.43 "64bit"
its always the same error 1604
tried also to go back to itunes 7.5 but then it wouldnt even recognise my ipod anymore... so im Stuck!!!!
anny sugestions ???
also windows disconects and reconects the ipod about 5 times during DFU then it just gets into normal restore mode i think

Hm.. hi guys..
just to share for those whose still stuck with error 10 and / or 1604
I've got these two errors around 20 times or so..
then i realize i did sumthing wong in "puttting the iphone into DFU".
at first i thought when iphone show the "connect USB to Itunes" logo, it is in DFU mode, so i tried upgrading firmware 2.0 custom several times, but failed, with those errors..
then.. after a while, i try holding the sleepwake buttons+home button for TEN SECONDS ( as in tutorial) until the screen goes black.. ..
my itunes then immediately recognize the iphone and i use "shift + restire" and select the custom firmware..
everything went find after around 10 minits..
now im a happy guy~~
I beleive the key here is to "hold the sleepwake + home button for ten seconds" as per tut..
P/s: i used itunes 7.7 / winpwn 2.0.0.3 / i upgraded to ORIGINAL 2.0 firmware first.. , then restore it to custom_2.0.ipsm
TQ

Answer to ThanRavem's question.
I am nor sure if itunes 7.5 works in 64 bit, any way if you can try on XP system 32 bit.
7.5 will only load the software if it finds the iphone in DFU mode.
To put the iphone in DFU mode, have the itunes 7.5 on screen, press the “power” & “home” button simultaneously, release the power button at end of 9th second & continue holding the home button if in 10 to 15 seconds, itunes do not detect the iphone then you have to do it again.
Its tricky but you can do it with practice.

iPhone [1.0.2 OTB]Unlocked -->1.1.3 ziphone -->1.1.4 iLiberty -->1.1.4 WinPwn 1.0 -->2.0 WinPwn 2.0 --> WinPwn 2.2 --> Yellowsn0w 2.2

iPhone is the best cellphone I ever used

Don't follow these instructions .. they SHOULD not work.
Simple thing is that custom ipsw can ONLY be loaded if iphone is in DFU, if it's in restore mode then Itunes won't load the custom software.
If you are getting 160? errors just power cycle the phone (get apple logo) load factory firmware .. then put it in DFU and load custom .. all in itunes 7.7
I have no idea why people keep doing this 1.4 1.0 etc. etc. etc. .. you might as well do voodoo dance before your iphone too.
In Custom 2.0 Yes you need DFU mode, but I did 2 restores in recovery mode with custom 1.1.4 because I couldn't get rid of the 160X errors.
Worked flawlesly. In fact, I first tried that when I was having 160x errors with 2.0 custom... but didnt' worked for me.
My solution was just going all theway, no downgrading iTunes to 7.5, just restored iPhone with custom 1.1.4 (EDIT: IMPORTANT: I WAS NEVER IN FACT ON 2.0 so this is not a Downgrade) , then restarted all over to build custom 2.0 and restarted iTunes ( I restarted everything) and got no problems, just 10 miutes for upgrading, that may have a lot of people very nervous.
EDIT: Second time I did iPwn iTunes so I encourgae evrybody to check that before downgrading.

This is not a clear Solution for Error 1604!
Why?
On Point 5 is told
5. Once your phone is restored to 1.1.4, unlock it with iLiberty follow the instructions " http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/iphone_iliberty_windows.html" at hackthatphone.com
YOU CANT RESTORE CAUSE YOU STILL GET ERROR 1604!

reply to Karabey question.
Karabey,
What I want to say in Step 5 is:
Restore your iphone to 1.1.4 with original file (iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore.ipsw). Once your phone is restored to 1.1.4, unlock it with iLiberty follow the instructions " http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/iphone_iliberty_windows.html" at hackthatphone.com

iPhone [1.0.2 OTB]Unlocked -->1.1.3 ziphone -->1.1.4 iLiberty -->1.1.4 WinPwn 1.0 -->2.0 WinPwn 2.0 --> WinPwn 2.2 --> Yellowsn0w 2.2

I'm afraid it doesn't work for everyone. I still get these darned errors before we even think about unlocking.
-
this 16xx error you guy are seeing is because you did not put the phone in DFU mode !!!.
i've said this many many times.
You have to be in DFU to restore the custom 2.0 firmware.
