check that.. now itunes doesn't recognize the iphone after i reconnect the phone to the pc.. i now get the message..
"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone "Ray's iPhone". Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings."
if you get this error, go into settings -> general -> reset -> reset all settings.. after you do this your iphone will restart and itunes will now recognize it perfectly.

If you want , you can upgrade the iPhone to 2.0.2 using iTunes and then use QuickPwn to jailbreak it

jumphopspin seems to be fine with the 500mb but does nto say if he installed cydia and installer? i would stick with 550 to be on the safe side

Hmmm....
not working here in Expert mode on Windows XP SP3 on my 3 G iPhone still 2.0FW.
It's just not building the ipsw file. It does nothing.
Probably I am already nuts, maybe too many SW on both sides.
Deinstalled Winpwn 2.04, Installed 2.5 beta 1 not working
after two days beta2 came out, ok, I gave it another try, again uninstalling installing restarting have read everything and all done but not working here on expert mode even with differnet root partition sizes 500 - 600 - 700MB. If I switch it off its building an Ipsw file but I really don't want the installer any more only cydia so I kept trying in expert mode.
This is just informativ for you guys, had to hurry so I went for Quickpwn, and that worked flawlessy.
Have updated my Baseband now but I'm anyway on a legit phone so what....
Greetings and big thanks to the community!

My WinPwn update doesn't work. Can you provide me a dl link other than rapidshare one. Thank you.

I perform all steps and all goes well... until the last one.
WinPwn 2.5 says "Congratulations! You have successfully entered DFU mode. Please wait while your iPhone/iPod is being prepared to accept custom IPSWs" and then... nothing...
It just stays like that forever.
It never gets to "Please use iTunes to restore your iPhone/iPod with a custom IPSW now. You may now let go of the home button. You can now restore the iPhone in iTunes with shift-restore and the custom firmware."
What is wrong?
