Default [WinPwn 2.0] Bricked iphone not following the instruction of BootNeuter Error 1604

    Guys I need help
My iphone is Pwnage and updated to 2.0, everything was working fine, then I decided to downgrade the bootloader form 4.6 to 3.9
    The setting I tried was:
    Version : 3.9
    Neuter : ON
    FakeBlank : ON
    Unlock : ON
But if forgot to set autolock to never. Once the screen gone black & when I pressed the home button I got a message “iphone needs repair”.
Now when I try to restore the iphone through itunes7.7, I get error # 1604

Bummer. I think that even if don't set the Auto Lock to never.

You are not supposed to use the home button. Just let the bootneuter run. Use the sleep/wake button instead and keep touching the screen...

As for now. U can do a restore and work bootneuter again.

Was the bootloader flash over when the phone locked? If yes, u are ok I think. But if you messed up the bootloder flash well, you are screwed.

You might have to crack the phone up do some circuits thing and flash the bootloader the hardware way.

    Goodluck.

i got the 1604 error.. so what i did is i downgraded to 1.1.4 orignal firmware using Itunes 7.5 after i uninstall Itunes 7.7. I then used Iliberty to unlock and jailbreak then downgraded the baseband using bootneuter.

after all that i upgraded back to 2.0 using winpwn image and all is fine now

I have tried quite a few combination on VIsta 64 Bit and XP.
Tried restoring to custom file, to original file through itunes. Nothing working.
    Even tried to go to 1.1.4 I get a error # 20

I found this solution for error 1604 can some one that tried it can shed some light on it:

Can some one tell me how to find this file "x12220000_4_Recovery" on my computer or where it is to be replaced.

    I could be wrong, but, isn't %APP% c:\Documents and settings\loginID\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes....?

You have to set the folder to show hidden files first or do it in cmd console instead.

    I feel your pain.
    Good luck.

This sucks, So I got my first iPhone, it was already at 2.0 so I used the winpwn to create custom firmware and unlock. Everything was working great until I was stupid enough to open bootneuter and change the boot loader to 4.6 from 3.9. Now i just get the cable with itunes screen. I tried restoring custom firmware and got error 1604. I then uninstalled 7.7 installed 7.5 and put the phone into DFU, if i try to just click restore it tells me that the software is no longer available and to upgrade itunes. If I shift click restore and point it to a 1.1.4 ispw it fails with error 1 (unknow error). Any ideas of how I can fix this?
