Well I would seriously consider holding off on 2.0.1 unless you are welling to have a 1000mb partition with both Cydia and Installer. I was one of the people with continuous Error 6 on multiple computers and OS. The only way to get 2.0.1 on my phone was to choose Installer, Youtube Fix, Cydia and 1000mb partition, and the reality is I only wanted installer@500mb.
Im not sure where the problem lied but I think winpwn is to blame because it cant build an acceptable ipsw with varying options.
The only thing that might have made a difference, but for what reason I dont know why, was that I was already on an upgraded version of 2.0.1 originally from 2.0. But once you put iPhone in DFU mode you are commited, you cant return to the upgraded 2.0.1 Normal Mode.
I would have loved to try pwnage tool on Mac but none of the girls I know use a Mac (hehe).
The shitty part is the upgraded 2.0.1 and freshly restored 2.0.1 still has bugs. Installer is awesome!
Wait for IPSW 2.1 people!!

Winpwn 2.0.0.4 and FW 2.0.1. This is how I did it
Just sharing...
I am already on 2.0 using winpwn 2.0.0.2. I have moved to 2.0.1 FW using WinPwn 2.0.0.4
Creating of custome FW: You need to doing it fresh; start winPwn and create the FW. If you need to create another FW, do restart winpwn. My FW has Cydia, Installer and activate youtube. At advance, I only have activate iPhone. I did not select unlock as my phone is already unlocked in 2.0 FW.
Once the FW is done, I just restore the phone by clicking shift-restore. Nothing facncy, no DFU mode etc...

Why must me set your phone into DFU mode?
As I have been upgrading firmwares under Recovery mode each and every time and didn't encounter any problem...

Of course you could select partition 550mb like me, but I guess that's not something you tried.

Hi,
I was successful with WinPwn 2.0.0.2 with 2.0 fw. and have a 2G iPhone.
I tried WinPwn 2.0.0.4 and was finally able to create the 2.0.1 fw without Cydia... but when i try to restore to 2.0.1 from 2.0.... it always gives me an error (sometimes error 6 or 13)
Does anyone know what i should do?

I have a previously unlocked iPhone running 1.1.4. I bought it off ebay im not sure how they unlocked it. Downloaded winpwn 2.0.0.4...made the custom firmware that all went great. Put the phone into dfu mode in itunes did the shift restore.....it seemed to be going well and then error6. Tried to restore again and then error 1604 and now the phone is stuck at the itunes/usb cable logo. Any suggestions???
