WinPwn 2.0.0.4 worked fine on my previously pwned 2G iPhone. I also got both installer and cydia in my custom firmware. Here's what I did:

    1. Choose Browse.ipsw and pick the official 2.0.1 firmware from Apple
    2. Click on IPSW Builder
    3. Select the options you want (in my case, I selected youtube fix, installer, cydia, and also the options to unlock my baseband since I'm not on an official carrier.
    4. **I changed the partition size from 500MB to 1000MB**
    5. Then i built my IPSW
    6. Click on iPwner and select your newly built custom 2.0.1 firmware to pwn iTunes.
    7. Open iTunes and put your phone in DFU mode
    8. When iTunes detects your phone in recovery mode, click Shift-Restore then select your new custom firmware.

That's it. Restoring took a while, but I just left it, and then I had both Cydia and Installer on my phone. I'm restoring from backup as I speak.

NOTE: Building my custom IPSW with BOTH Cydia and Installer did not work until I tried changing the partition size from 500 MB to 1000 MB,!

    do not forget this

before you install new winpwn version
    uninstall previous version of winpwn
delete "cmw" folder in c: Documents and settings/USER/applications data/ and delete cmw
This worked like a charm! Thanks a lot!

    Hmmm.

I still get error 6. If you get error 6 can u post your setup so we'll see if there's a pattern.

I also followed bigbosses guide at http://sleepers.net/news/2008/07/25/winpwn-20-guide/ - this guide is very suspect. Many of the screenshots are from 3 weeks ago!

And no for the nth *x8s88*ing time I know how to DFU!!!!!

Update!! Was able to upgrade to custom firmware 2.0.1 with no error 6 by just shift-click on restore, i.e. no recovery/DFU. Is it possible that DFU is only required to PWN phone and then thereafter shift-click restore for future revisions?

That is awesome!! but I dont think it will help me since I dont have the option to restore when I connect to itunes in normal mode. This is because the sim card isnt ATT and the phone isnt activated. I can receive calls though which is funny. I guess the unlock is still working.

I have tried now on 3 windows machines (2 vista, 1 XP) to no avail. Is is possible to somehow do a restore in normal mode while the phone isnt activated and I tunes is asking for an authorized SIM? I assume nospamjl you werent in this same scenario as I am. iTunes was recognizing your phone A-OK.

It is possible that DFU is required for phone that has never been pwned before. For me, on my previously pwned 2.0 iphone, I got 1601 error every time I put it in DFU mode. I finally did the restore mode and all was fine. Please see my "sharing - winpwn 2.0.0.4 experience post"

Smile Thanks to the person who figured out the 1000MB partition

That along with making sure I was in fact in DFU mode (http://sleepers.net/news/blank/dfu-mode/
), made my upgrade from ziphone 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 work.

I have also tried using 2.0.0.3 and restoring 2.0 on iTunes 7.7.0.43 and I still got error 6. I am on a vista 32bit system.

I cant even use the iClarified restore to 1.1.4 on iTunes 7.5 because of Error 10!!!

As of now I have a legit 2.0.1 stuck on the Emergency Screen. Any other pieces of advice before I go out and buy a HTC Diamond (Im not really gonna do that)?
    Interesting!
Please also count me in. I'm the one can't fix Error(6) but I have stricted to "no Cydia" option so far. I have been trying to check Cydia but my internet connection happen to be down last night (poor ISP ) so I'll do it soon as the connection is recovered (does anyone know how we can restore such the things via iTune without the internet connection? I'm getting sick of it. I have all original and custom .ipsw files but iTune keep asking for the connection for update.... doesn't make sense at all).

For your case (and also mine) I'm thinking of your Vista and my XP+servicepack 3+complete most recent update. I'm not sure... heard from somewhere that Winpwn/PwnageTool work not so well in Vista (and I presume this case would happen in latest updated XP too). So let's try the other outdated PC.

    It's working.

Installer + Cydia + Youtube activation + Partition set to 1G

    All done under Recovery Mode.
