Hey can anyone help me with a problem with winpwn? I've got 1.1.2 OTB uk iphone that I had updated to 1.1.4 using iliberty.

I decided to try and update it to 2.0.1, I followed all the intructions exactly as said, built the ipsw, pwned itunes and put the phone into DFU mode. But when I try and restore to the custom firmware with itunes it stays on preparing iphone for restore and then says "The IPhone "IPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1604). I've checked to make sure the firmware I downloaded was for 2g and not 3g, I redownloaded and rebuilt the ipsw I've tried restoring it a couple of times but to no avail I still get the same error.

Can anyone help? Anything is appreciated.

EDIT: Ach sorry, lock this thread. I was confusing Recovery mode to dfu mode.

First question....which software are you using to upgrade...

follow these steps and you will have your phone with 2.0.1 firmware.

hey i had the same problem....no matter what i was getting 1604 error.
so the simple thing i tried is tat i tried restoring in another computer...it worked flawlessly...sometimes iTunes ll be the main culprit...so u try restoring in another computer with a fresh copy of winpwn and iTunes..it should work..
let me kno if it does else ll try out different things..

iTunes is often the problem...you could just uninstall iTunes...

Windows.....heres how to uninstall iTunes.

Start...Control Panel...add and Remove Programs...

now remove everything to do with iTunes..

so remove iTunes...

remove...Apple Mobile Device Support...

remove...Apple Software Update...

now close everything and reStart your computer....Now just reinstall iTunes and away

you go with ... Winpwn 2.0.0.4
