Default [[Troubleshoot]] Solutions of errors and guide for 2.0 and downgrade

This is for the people who dont use search button or they dont google it!!!!:hack:

got my 4 i phones sorted 5 mins before!!!!!!!!!!!!!

orite ppl lets start the guide:

if u r getting "error 6" or error 16xx you are not putting it in DFU mode
(if u get error 14xx ur ipsw file is not good scrap it)

the only problem coming up is the confusion between
    Recovery mode & DFU mode

Recovery mode: it is the mode where you just update your version

it comes up when u hold the power and home button until a itunes pic and a cable comes up

DFU mode:DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode is not the same as restore mode. DFU mode bypasses the current OS installed and allows you to upgrade or downgrade your OS. If you are getting errors trying to restore in iTunes, DFU mode is very likely for you.

This is how to achieve DFU mode. You can do it on every phone:

Attach the phone to the pc
    Turn the phone off
Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
At no point will the display come on. Now your restore should work.
Having problems? Try adjusting the 10 seconds to be slightly less like 9 seconds, then 8, then 7. It’s a tricky timing but you will eventually get it.

    Here is an alternate method:

Hook up the phone powered on to the PC
Now hold home / power until the phone turns off and keep holding for 10 seconds. If the phone ever turns on during this phase, start over and hold for less time.
Now release power and continue holding home until the PC recognizes the phone.
I don’t like this method as much because there are “rumors” that it may cause some 1604 errors in the restore. I am not convinced of that though.

    ================================================== ====

Now if you want to use the custom firmware 2.0 hold the shift button and click on restore
select the Custom ipsw from winpwn or ipwned you want to use.
and let it do its job!!!!!!

    If you want to downgrade:
    1) Its recomended to use itunes 7.5
    2) take it into DFU mode(explained above)
    3) hold shift and click on restore
    4) select the firmware version 1.1.4 (download it from iphone.unlock.no)
    5) it will end up at error 1015 (nothing to worry) its good
    6) repeat the procedure 2 - 4 it will finish at the error again, and in recovery mode
    7) download the ibrickr 0.91 from:

    http://rapidshare.de/files/40184616/...v0.91.rar.html

    8)run ibrickr and
    9) click on boot iphone.
and unlock it with ziphone 3.0

it's very important to have your phone OFF when entering DFU. i was getting 1604 when restoring the custom image (which was a pain, always reflashing 1.1.4 and trying over). i was in DFU mode, but was starting it when the iphone was ON. the first time i started with it OFF, things worked beautifully.
