Help with restoring from iTunes backup.

Hey everyone:
here are my stats:
jailbroken + unlocked 2.0.1 iPhone.
I've been trying to get it to restore from backup in iTunes, but the process takes forever and usually doesn't finish. It reaches around 50% and stops.
Note that the first time it broke off unfinished was at around 90%.
The %s are estimates (acc 2 the green thing).
Now, when that happens, the iPhone has the contacts, and apps.
However, it doesn't have my sms (the most precious stuff for me on the iPhone) and my notes.. u know, my personal stuff.

Now what I did after that was to restore to custom 2.0, and then update again to 2.0.1.
I had done this before and the restore had worked perfectly - but not this time.
So I'm guessing it's not from the phone. That's why I'm gonna restore it to custom 2.0.1 again.
But I seriously need help getting my messages and notes back...
Btw, the backups are still there in iTunes.

iTubes in the title is iTunes... stupid typo.

I don't know why, but when I had to restore my backup (coming from 1.1.4) it took iTunes over 30 minutes (maybe an hour) to do so, it may seem that it stops, but if you give it time, you'll see that it actually moves... so you may want to try again and be a little patient
