Hi all,
after upgrading to 2.0 with Winpwn wifi worked fine but then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to my access point (but it was still seeing it). Then it didn't see any access point (even others, not mine) and now the Wifi is greyed out.
I've reflashed 2.0 many times and it always ended up this way. Maybe is an hardware problem?

if i were u i would downgrade to 1.1.4 and unlock using iLiberty and check the grey wifi fix
then i would upgrade to 2.0
u might need to use the patched ziphone to downgrade iphone
i tried it but i ended up in the same spot :( i'll upgrade to 2.0.1 and see what happens..

Hi all just updated to firmware 2.0.1 and it hasnt solved the problem, iphone still jailbreaked and unlocked, but wifi is still down. Helpe here please.

Thought I'd share my experience with wi-fi problem.
After updating 2G phone from 1.1.4 to winpwn custom firmware 2.0, both wi-fi and bluetooth were greyed out and no MAC addresses were available for either one.
It appeared that baseband nvram was currupt. You can check it with ibooter command line tool.
First I uninstalled iTunes 7.7.1 and rolled back to 7.5, then downgraded my phone to unmodified 1.1.4 firmware.
Then used iLiberty to activate and unlock it. Goal is to have swifi fix included in iLiberty payload, but it was failing to run on my phone if paired with any other applications to install, such us BSD, SSH or Terminal.
So I used iLiberty twice, first to unlock it only and then to only run DevTeam grey wifi fix and it worked, MAC addresses are there, wi-fi and bluetooth are available.
After that it was easy, install newer iTunes, create custom 2.0.0 firmware with winpwn and apply it and finally, if no third party apps are needed, update the phone to 2.0.1 with iTunes.

2 days ago I pwned and flashed a custom firmware ,everything is ok.then I attempt to install SSH ,but wi-fi greyed out.I didnt downgrade! Simply restored the same custom firmware and the wifi is back ;) hope this helps.
hey - i had this problem too
but it has fixed itself (probably after a reset) - I had originally had hardware wifi troubles with 1.1.4 and earlier and had turned off WIFI
When i Pwned i had grey wifi - it was listed as N/A
I checked one night later and now i can search for networks again.... phew!
Chances are my phone will still crash if i use wifi though :(
EDIT: hmm spoke to soon, it connected for a second but now it cant find anything.... to be continued!
Hi everyone, first of all I got a 1.1.4 otb I wanted to upgrade to 2.0 =) but things went wrong... when it finished upgrading to my Customized 2.0 ipsw I went to Settings and ZOMG! not again!! MY WIFI WAS GRAYED OUT SHOWING " NO WIFI "...crap.. I restored network settings but didn't work, I RESTORED to a customizes 2.0.1 ipsw BUT I'm stucked right here I am always getting 1604 ...
I tried iClarified's solution for 160x errors but nothing..
I was going to post in this thread but this guy is not having trouble with error 1604, I think I can fix my problem like MuscleNerd said in this post, Running bootneuter twice, reverting the unlock switch (it depends in your current settings).
I haven't tried this BECAUSE, when I want to restore to 2.0.1 or to a Customized 2.0.2 ipsw I will always get error 1604, so I decided to Reinstall iTunes 7.7.1 , try in a Mac etc, now I'm getting 1600 I changed the usb port, restored without the SIM card and nothing, so.. I do NOT want to the things wrong and eventually get a 1011 error or a corrupt bootloader ETC !!! all of those pain-in-the-ass-problems
Can anyone help me?
I'm so surprised I did everything right! why does this thing broke up showing no wifi.. :/ just getting out from 160x error I will try MuscleNerd's method. (thanks dude)

something else... when I restore to my customized 2G firmware (iphone1,1_)
iTunes is setting my iphone ready to the restore, THEN I get the error message, 1604 most of the times, sometimes I get 1602 and 1600, but.. after this ERROR message and iTunes canceled the restore process, my iphone appears to be restoring itself, the spinning wheel appears at the bottom and it won't stop until I turn it off, I think that it is receiving the command from iTunes but too late, when the error already appeared , really weird. I already tried in 4 different computers

EDIT: It seems that this guy had the same problem... he fixed it with 1.1.4 just like that, he did not mention the spinning wheel but it seems to be the same issue as mine, I'll try it and post my results later.. :)
