[2.1] Updating from 1.1.4

Oh yes this will work. I did it already for 5 phones. The ipsw file itself will do the pwning at the end of the restore procedure.

And do NOT use DFU mode or you will get errors 1604 etc...Sorry, it seems to be against the general instructions but it WORKS.

I used DFU mode and it also worked. I guess you can simply try things until it works.

Yes, it did work :-) Happily on 2.1 now with Cydia and Appstore...

planetbeing has updated his xpwn and ipsw tools on github;
now also linux and windows users can create their custom 2.1!

I also upgrade from 1.14 to 2.01 with winpwn 2.5, then used a custom ipsw to upgrade to 2.1. I'm really happy with it, it's unlocked and on tmobile and using tzones.

I have a 1.1.3 unlocked/jailbroken with ziphone and and looking to upgrade to 2.1 so using the guide from sleepers: http://sleepers.net/news/blank/winpwn-25-basic-guide/ what fw will i end up with? because it doesnt specify in the guide. will it get me directly to 2.1? and if not, how do i get to 2.1?

If I use that and quickpwn, will it delete all my apps that I installed using installer? Because I kind of wanted to start over. But it wont delete my sms's, contacts, etc. right? Also, since my iphone is already unlocked, do I still click the unlock option?
