Default isn't there a tool that would just send the frakin' iPhone into DFU mode automaticaly

I am trying to help this friend update to 2.0.1 from 1.1.4. He did all the steps, but because after he pwned itunes 7.7.1 with winpwn 2.0.0.4 he didn't go into DFU mode to install the custom firmware but he just used normal restore mode and got error 1604, he know has to go into the dark screen dfu mode.
He is such a whimp, he can't do it........
Isn't there a tool that would just send this freakin' phone into DFU mode?

Yes, a couple. The problem is that you can't use any tool to kick it into DFU for pwnage purposes.. So I'm afraid your friend has to do it manually... But other than that, yes, you can use iLiberty+ to put it in DFU, but that's appropriate if DFU'ing is a hobby, not a pwnage step

Sometimes you have to try it once more.
    To resume best practice:
    Connect iPhone and PC
Shut down the iPhone (hold start until red slider shows up, shut down)
On the iphone hold start and home button for 10 seconds
Release strt button then and keep holding Home for 10 seconds
iTunes will start up and find the iPhone in recovery/restore mode
Screen on the iPhone will always be black
    it's not too hard

10 sec would be a breeze if you could only have your iphone's timer running Another trick is to turn up the volume on your computer and use the connect tone as a cue to let go of power button (which happens in exactly 10 seconds)...
