kicked out of recovery mode using ibrickr
J/A using ziphone v.3
then loaded bootneuter into /Applications
Here is the problem now:
Bootneuter is on springboard but when I start I get:
Error
This application must be run under UID 0.
Please check your installation.
What do I do now? I need a way to erase the baseband since it is messed up.
Thanks.
Do not double post !!
Anytime you are touching ziphone, you are asking for trouble.
The only tool you should be using with fw 1.1.4 is iLiberty + bootneuter.
DFU restore iphone with Apple original firmware 1.1.4.
Use iLiberty to jailbreak/activate.
Set autolock=never
Use bootneuter to set neuter=on - hit flash
Use bootnetuer to set unlock=on - hit flash
Phone should be unlock.
If phone is working at that point, you can upgrade to 2.2.1 by DFU using Apple original firmware. Once done the phone will be unactivated and locked. Use Quickpwn 2.2.5-2 to jailbreak/activate and unlock.

What do you do if you can't even Shift Restore to the original Apple firmware? I've tried doing this in Restore and DFU mode, tried 1.1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1. All of them will fail with error xxx (14, 23, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603 etc. take your pick).
What I do is I keep trying and trying and eventually I would get lucky and 2.0.2 will somewhat work where it will show the emergency call screen and I can use Quickpwn. 99% of the time, it fails and I've either the Apple logo, Apple logo with the phone vibrating, or Apple logo continuosly restarting.
Have tried an XP and Vista notebook, running latest iTunes or 7.7. Tried downloading the firmwares again.
I'm convinced it is a hardware issue.
For some folks, the easy solution is to DFU and restore to original iPhone firmware, but for me that fails almost immediately with error 14.
Btw, for folks who aren't sure whether you are in DFU or not, I find the easiest way to know is look at your iTunes screen. In regular restore mode, you'll see "iPhone" and "Serial Number". In DFU mode, all you see is "iPhone" and the rest of the info is "N/A".

This is the way to downgrade 3.0 to any firmware using iTunes 8.2

Ok .. you are on to something. I manage not to get the errors again, but now I'm stuck with the Apple logo. What to do now?
I looked over this thread .. but it's not helping me.

iTunes doesn't even see the phone now. So, I can't really use any of the tools mentioned to get to the phone to remove the mentioned file.
Previously with my other errors, I was able to at least see the phone appearing.
Update -- I tried doing the unplug USB during white screen and restore, it is erroring out with 1611 (or 1601). Back to square 1.
Update -- I upgraded to official FW 3.0, and ran redsn0w 0.7.1 on Vista. It works now.

my steps
below are what I had done to rescue my iphone 2G with unknow error orccured (23) which is related to radio-error.
- downgrade iTunes to 7.5
- enter iphone recovery mode and load firmware 1.1.4
- ziphone v3.0 to downgrade bootloader, erase baseband ( not sure this step necessary or not, but I did that )
- ziphone v3.0 to jailbreak + Activate ( I will get no wifi and IMEI gone )
- install iTunes 8.2
- recovery mode and load firmware 2.2 ( this will give you back the baseband )
- upgrade to firmware 3.0 if you want.
- jail break with Redsn0w, and I can use it without issue.

The iPhone "iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (23).
Try restore using different firmware version.
I think this error occur due to corrupt of J.B., I got this problem when I receive a lock phone (screen shown restore mode) and i use redsn0w directly to J.B. it, after this.... the phone stuck, when i on it again it got direct to restore mode, I use itune to restore firmware 3.0 and this error 23 come out, after retry a few times (using different firmware version) I restore using firmware 2.2 and finally it go smoothly.
Hope can help you guys out there.
