I've been in a similar situation before a few times.... WiFi working really bad. Sometimes it was just a problem with the WiFi access point, so a reset solved the poroblem.

But there is one thing that I know is the mother source of these type of problems: doing a backup restore after upgrading the firmware. Do not ask me why, but I've seen all sorts of problems. That is why only do a re-sync and manually copy some files.

This is why "reseting" some phones also work.... you clean some internal mess.

So try restoring the phone again and set it up as a new phone and try it. Post your results please.

Thanks aviegas for this post! I always try to make users use "setup as a new iPhone". There is so much garbage that might come back when using the restore option.

I always setup as new, then copy back the data I want to have manually like sms and call history.

Especially when users upgrade from 1.1.1 or earlier and restore, due to the different user model, tons of fixing has to be done when restore is choosen.

For me it happened after I restored to 2.0.

BTW, I've reset my router, done a restore without restoring my backup countless times. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to return my phone and get a replacement, but I'm not sure that if I unlock the new one that the unlock will cause any additional issues.

But in your previous post you said problem started with 1.1.4 & winpwn ? then problem continues to 2.0 and 2.0.1.

There are posts from people in this forum with wifi issue. You said it broke with 1.1.4, some said it broke with 2.0, some said it broke with 2.0.1. There is no consistency. On top of that, people simply said "me too or i have the same issue".

Something like this requires careful examination, including the iphone jb/act/unlock history. It is very difficult to draw any kind of conclusions if people just said "everything was fine until i did ....".
What is frustrating to me is people tend to give problem without much information which throw thing into a chaotic state.

Let me give you an example on my phone. I went to this wifi hotspot, it works everytime. One day, it refusedto work. I can see the accesspoint (SSID) and join it for a few second then it disappeared. I took out my macbook, it worked fine. Few days later, my phone worked perfectly fine at the same location and now my Macbook refuses to work.

I hope I can think of something for you.

The issue occurred after I restored my phone to a pwnaged 2.0 firmware. I noticed that my WIFI signal was very weak and I was unable to connect to other WIFI networks.

With my WIFI issue I proceeded to upgrade to 2.0.1 when that became available and it did not fix the issue. From there I did a restore to a pwnaged 2.0.1 firmware and the issue was still there. So I tried with a winpwned 2.0.1 firmware thinking that maybe it was just the firmware not being compiled correctly and when that didnt work I downgraded back to 1.1.4 and downgraded my baseband as well. When on 1.1.4 I unlocked with iLiberty+ and the issue is still there.

I've tested numerous times with different firmwares (1.1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1 and now 2.0.2) to see if it was possible that it could be either winpwn, pwnage, installer, cydia or the firmware itself that was causing the issue. I've also tried resetting the settings, resetting my router, setting a static IP, changing my DNS etc to see if it was the root to the problem and it appears that it is not. With a background in software quality assurance I've tested everything that is at my disposal and I'm at a lost for words.

Hopefully this describes my issue in more detail.

    - When you were at 1.1.4, did you try swifi ?

    - There is one recent post by MuscleNerd, he described running bootneuter again may fix the problem. Did you see that? http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...925#post324925

I ran the "Fix for No Signal, No Wifi, No Bluetooth" payload. I do not have the swifi payload, do you have the address to the payload?

Also, I've tried to run bootneuter again, but since my phone was already unlocked and activated it said there was no reason to reflash. My phone came with BL3.9 by the way.

if you use iLiberty, the swifi should appear in the available on repo tab.
BTW, swifi requires the 3.9BL to be fakeblanked.

When you ran bootneuter again, I think you supposed to toggle the unlock of off, neuter to off, hit flash. Then after that, toggle it back on again and hit flash.

    Note: autolock to never !!!

what is fakeblanked? It's to downgrade a 4.6 bootloader to 3.9 correct? BTW, SWIFI is not available in my list of Payloads.

bootneuter can downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9.

    For unlocking, you can have:
#1 - neuter=off, fakeblank=on, unlock=on, (this was commonly used before dev Team introduce bootneuter. That settings was done behind the scene via software unlock such as iplus, iLiberty). - Your baseband must be 04.04.05_G ..

    #2 - you can have neuter=on, fakeblank=off, unlock=on

#2 is what is widely use now.

If you want to use swifi payload. The requirement is to have 3.9 BL and fakeblank = on. You use bootneuter to accomplish this. When this is done, you can send the swifi payload to your 1.1.4 phone via iLiberty.

Be careful !! - you have to understand what you are doing ...
