Exclamation [2G] flashing stuck on "Waiting for iphone"

    Guys,

I am requesting your assistance on this one.

I've tried to use winpwn 2.0.0.3 in order to flash a 2G iphone to the 2.0 pwned firmware; but during the final step (actually flashing the iphone in DFU mode), itunes didn't go past "waiting for iphone".

I thought that the image I created got somehow corrupted so I "cancelled" the flashing procedure (read: resetted the phone again in DFU).

Now, every time I'm trying to flash the iphone with any image (1.1.4, 2.0pwned, 2.0 plain), I'm stuck on that "waiting for iphone" prompt.

On the phone, I'm able to get the recovery mode and DFU. I'm unable to get out of recovery mode at all.

The 2.0 fw that I used is the correct one (the one designed for the 2G phones).

Anybody has a trick to help me get back on my feets? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Givemelove.

Join the club, I don't get past the "Restoring iPhone software..." notice. It goes all the way to around 98% and stops there. So far I have counted 1hour and 30ish minutes and still stuck.

BTW - eery time I try to Restore, iTunes consumes a bit of the Hard disk in order to extract the .ipsw; however, since the Restore is interrupted by me or ends in error that disk space that is taken up is not given back by iTunes and stays "consumed". Where can I find the files iTunes extracts to the Hard disk so I can delete them and get my space back. So far iTunes has eaten away 10GB of data in just failed Restores.

    Any help here also appreciated...

I think the problem is with the custom firmware file created by winpwn. I tried to make a new one with winpwn 2.0.0.3 and got stuck on "waiting for iphone".

I decided to interrupt and restart the restore with a file I got from the net... voilá. It is working.

Which file from the net? The official 2.0 firmware or a custom one you got from another site?

    Thanks in advance,

You should power cycle the phone .. which is not easy to do in DFU mode.
Hold the power button till the apple logo appears .. once that happens, you should be able to connect to iTunes and load default software from it.
Do that before trying to load custom ipsw file.

Not quiet .. the error 6 comes when you try to load cusom ipsw file.
iTunes won't do it for you unless you are in DFU mode.

So first load regular software get it out of this mode, then put in DFU mode and then load the custom ipsw file

The problem is that I don't even get the error 6 message.

Any attempt to restore any firmware results in that waiting for iphone state.

My guess is that the filesystem is empty on my iphone. I probably only have the restore mode.

The trick is to get into DFU mode.
