I winpwned my first gen. iphone a couple months ago and there seems to be a problem with the disk space. I have a 8GB iphone.

The thing is it says on Itunes that I have no more capacity when I used to have much more (songs, podcasts, apps) on my 1.1.4 version and it still said I had more disk space left.

Currently, this is how it breaks down (according to ITunes):

- Audio : 209.7 MB (some audio podcasts)
- Video : 1.55 GB (video podcasts)
- Photos : 27.8 MB (photos taken with my Iphone, not from my computer)
- Other : 5.30 GB(!!!!)(what the hell)
- Free : zero KB

now as you can see, the "other" is taking up a huge amount of capacity. But the thing is, I only have a couple apps (trism, line rider, word wrap, cbnk 3d, brain challenge, monkey ball, pool, numba, aqua forest, enigmo, action blox, tris, hanoi, galcon, anatomy, rsoccer09, scrabble, hangmansim, pop quiz!, jokes, shazam, video recorder 3g, dobot todos, level, flashlight, band, factbook, seismometer, asleep, bossPrefs, GraphCalc, Bloomberg, MxTube igolf and Iphunny). What the hell is taking up all this space! Please help me guys. I can't even put my photos and songs on anymore.

I'd like to mention I sshed some games onto my iphone.

Another thing is that the battery doesn't seem to last very long. I have to charge it everyday. What's up with that?

Restore -don't update- it to 2.1 and then, set it as a "New iPhone"

Once done plug your phone's back to your computer and start iTunes and re-sync it.

The used space should be gone.

Just delete that and it works

Guys, I thinked I fukced up big time here. I tried to restore to 2.1 (pressing shift when pressing restore, selecting file and everything) and it's now blocked! It has the emergency call thing, I can't do anything eles, Itunes says "The sim card inserted in this Iphone does not appear to be supported..."

I tried to winpwn it about 5 times, hasn't work, iTunes won't recognize the bloody thing..

What should I do guys?

Do I have to downgrade to 1.1.4 and then upgrade back to 2.0?

If so, how do I do it?

ok, I quickpwned it and I unpluged my iphone from the usb cable and now nothing is happening. Tried to turn it off. Turned it back on. Now all there is is a silver pineapple in the middle of the screen. It's doing nothing else!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Try a DFU ([FW 2.x](2G&3G) DFU and recovery mode (getting in and out of)) restore to a stock 2.1 FW and then follow the guide.

I don't understand, what do I have to do? put it in dfu mode or recovery mode? and what's a stock 2.1 FW? what's the guide?

No problem

1.- Put the iPhone in DFU mode
2.- Restore to original 2.1 FW from Apple
3.- Then follow the guide posted on post # 5
