[1.0.0 OTB] Can I use winpwn ?

I have a 1.0.0 OTB thats never been touched, can I use winpwn straight away? or do I have to upgrade it to any different version first ?

I understand you build a custom IPSW that you'll flash your phone with, but is it compatible from all firmwares ?

Sorry I've searched but I've only been able to find people asking if they can do it straight from 1.1.1, nothing earlier

A 1.0.0 untouched.
Not sure because I did not have anything like that to test.
However, I've done it from 1.0.2 directly to 2.0 by using winpwn to build custom firmware and restore it.

Thanks for the reply - I guess I'll find out... its a bit worrying seeing on the winpwn website that they have support for "1.1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1"

what are my options if i wanted to goto a version thats been tried and tested ? - can i just do a restore to a newer version ?

download the firmware version you want.

put phone in restore mode.

- power off phone
- shut down itunes
- hold down home button (the round button) and connect the usb cable.
- keep holding until itunes recognize the phone in restore mode.

shift-click restore and select the firmware you just downloaded. That's it.

A month ago I bought a sealed phone off ebay, and guess what, it was a 1.0.0, opening day (29 week?) collector's item. SEALED! Anyway, my iTunes, which I believe was then at version 7.6 kept giving me unknown errors when I tried to restore it straight to 1.1.4. Pretty weird, gotta tell you. I tried changing USB ports, rebooting the computer, nothing worked. Then I figured 1.0.0 to 1.1.4 could be too big of a leap for iTunes to handle and restored it to 1.1.1 first, which worked fine, and then from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4, which also worked like a charm!! So keep that in mind in case iTunes gives you errors...

hey thanks guys - i ended up just going to a restore of 1.1.1, then winpwn'ed just fine, i imagine i coulda just done 1.0.0 like was suggested.

sorry i didnt get a chance to get ss b4 i upgraded

but my modem firmware was 03.11.02_G , serial suggests it was a week 30 phone, Model says MA712LL

now if i can only get my damn tzones hack to work - i'm stuck on that comverse error and its been a 5 days since i activated it with tmobile
