    Did mine this morning, just restoring the same firmware again had no effect for me. I put the phone into DFU mode with ziphone, restored regular 1.1.4 (couldn't restore custom firmware at this point), repwned the phone and finally restored the same custom firmware as before. So far no problems with iplayer.

    Same situation here - 2 iphones (1.1.4) that won't play iPlayer movies. One is unlocked with iPlus ages ago, the other, recently with Pwnage so I don't believe it's anything to do with unlocking/jailbreaking.

    The wierd thing is, on the iPlus phone it had been working since the iPlayer service was rolled out for iPhone and it hasn't been modified in any way since. Yet it's just completely stopped working ("Error playing movie"). Clearly the BBC have changed something. My girlfriend has received an email from them yesterday (she complained to them about it);

    "First can you ensure that you are maintaining a permanent Wi-Fi connection when trying to stream on your iPhone.

    Otherwise can you please visit the website http://www.useragentstring.com/ and send us the information contained under "Your User Agent String".

    This will help us investigate the matter further."

    I had the same problem of no play button when I went from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 and Ziphone. Worked perfectly on 1.1.3 and still working on partner's iPhone which is at 1.1.3 Ziphoned.
    iplayer kept coming up with 'confirm you are over 16' parental guidance message on the 1.1.4 and even confirming with the 'yes' button did not work. Eventually went back to 1.1.3 and hey presto, no further iplayer problem.
    I would dare to suggest an intermittent 1.1.4 glitch that confuses the iplayed regarding parental guidance/control issues.

    In case it helps...My iphone is jailbroken on 1.1.2 and iplayer always works fine except: The first few times I tried to a "Cloud" wifi hotspot (I'm not registered with The Cloud) to access the iplayer site it would load up everything (slowly) but the "Play" button was missing. I'm thinking "The Cloud" throttles non registered users speed until they register with a know iphone telephone number.
    Maybe if the iplayer site detects your connection as being too slow to stream the video then it doesn't offer you the "Play" button.
    Or it could be something else completely different!!

    first time I pwned my phone the iplayer didn't work, I got the same error messages as everyone else. Run the custom restore again and hey presto the iplayer works again just like others have found.

    Had to do a complete restore again and this time the iplayer worked first time round without the need of running the custom ipsw file again for the second time so I really think its down to pot luck if it works first time round or not!

    I had the same issue and I fixed it very easily.

    First I deleted the cache and cookies from the safari settings in the settings menu.

    Then I refreshed the iPlayer page and clicked on "display options" in the top left hand corner and clicked on "clear all settings" and confirmed it and the play button popped up.

    I actually doubt it had anything to do with safari settings but rather just the BBC iPlayer site settings.

    Let me know if that works on anyone else as well!

    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    Ok. I have just unlocked 8 iphones. BBC iPlayer didn't work on any of them.
    So I tried different things with each one to see what would make it work.
    For me, at least, it turns out to be the BSD Subsystem.

    BBC iPlayer WILL work if you make sure you play a programme as soon as Boot Neuter finishes doing its thing straight after a custom restore and BEFORE you install anything else (like BSD Subsystem). After you have played something, you can then install anything you like and it will carry on working.

    So its like this: PWN > BOOT NEUTER > BBC IPLAYER > BSD SUBSYSTEM etc

    This definitely works. I have now tried it with 10 more iphones.

    So if its not working for you, restore with your custom ipsw and follow the running order above.

    If your iplayer was working but has now stopped then you need to install a fix which clears your cookies. To do this, add the following to your Installer source:

    navco786.com/edge.xml

    Then install the 'BBC iplayer Fix' from the navco786 category. Now try the iplayer, it should work. If it doesn't work the first time, try restarting your iphone. This also fixes the issue where a website keeps asking you to log in everytime even though you already did e.g. ebay

    <<<<<<<<<<<< If this works for you give me a 'thumbs up'

    Did you try what I suggested?

    You dont even NEED TO RESTORE! its just the BBC sites settings!

    Didn't work for me on either phone (1.1.4, iPlus, simfree / 1.1.4, Pwnage, simfree).

    I believe the problem you were having is different to the rest of us. I tried the settings thing on all the iphones, didn't work once. Restoring is no 'biggie' anyway.
