I dont think this is a Pwnage issue as im currently on 1.1.3 JB from Ziphone and I'm also unable to view Iplayer. Ill let you know if the Pwnage toll fixes it for me as soon as the Windows version is available.

Speaking as JonnyO's mate (/me tips his hat to him) I can now confirm that simply restoring the same firmware file (built by the pwnage tool) onto an iPhone has resulted in iPlayer now working. Not sure at all what's going on, all I did was click alt-Restore in iTunes, select the same firmware as last time and then let it to its stuff. After rebooting BootNeuter fired up but checked the current settings and detected that they were the same as what it was asked to do so it just rebooted the phone again. Once it started up again I then entered the wireless WPA key, went to the iPlayer site and it worked. I then connected the iPhone to iTunes again and allowed it to restore the settings using the most recent backup of the phone (taken immediately prior to doing the firmware restore) and it still worked (well the restore failed actually so I had to delete the Media folder to make it want to do another restore process but then it did still work).

I do not know what is going on here. I had prior to this tried clearing the Safari history, cookies and cache and also done a reset on the network settings and (I think) a reset all settings too but all to no avail. Don't know what's going on at all.

Another poster or two (stu_ for instance) have commented that the play button does not appear sometimes. I have come across this too - I think there is a certain amount of data which is retrieved before the play button appears and sometimes the play button takes a little while to appear on my iPhone. Try refreshing and see if it appears is all I can suggest.

Well I tried the reset all setting and it is still not working. I will try the other steps offered by Alec tomorrow or Friday... still no iPlayer though...

    Ok, good and bad news...

The good news is that iPlayer is now working. I simply did and option-Restore in iTunes with the same custom ipsw. It "updated" fine, and now the little play button appears.

The bad news is that anyone can again watch Eastenders on my phone... well, I had to test with something... :-)

Strange though that this fixed the problem... at least it's NOT pwning your phone that breaks it.

Tested again this morning and now its failing.

What did you guys do to fix the problem?

I did a reset all and then restore from itunes and nothing. Its still failing.

Do I need to enter DFU mode and restore the custom firmware again ?

    Many Thanks

DFU mode and restore custom firmware got it working for me.
No idea why as I don't know what could be different this time around?

I have the similar issue -- the iPlayer stopped working after I pwned my iPhone, created custom ipsw and then restored it. I'll try to restore it again tonight as other people suggest and see if it helps.
