Well installed a retail version of snow so i updated it by the program and now when i boot up it tells me to shut down the computer im reinstalling but how do i upgrade my os?

It depends, you either have to install chocolate kernel or any kernel that supports your cpu, or you have to delete appleI/Okit, and most probably both.
