Great OS! Maybe itis just my hardware getting ill, but OSX 10.5.6 slowly started having issues inthe last 6 months - 1 year.
Today it wouldn't boot anymore.


Asus M2N - SLI deluxe mainboard, 6-7 years old.
main HDD - WDC 160GB, 6-7 years old
data partitions HDD - Samsung 500GB, abput 3-4 years old
Both HDDs are SATA

1 - It spat "ATA Warning: completed zero block transfer" on TTY or something like that at a high rate relatively short after booting commenced.
2 - fiddled with BIOS settings a bit and it got me to the point where the display's resolution got adjusted to the native LCD screen resolution. The following screen got generated over and over again, having some brief "desktop GUI" glimpses in between.



3 - hmm, can't recall what I have done (if anything) but now it halts here:



Is it just my hardware ? perhaps it is HFS related, in which case I could repair it somehow - how ?

It finally managed to boot; tried Disk Utility -> Repair the HFS drive which boots Mac OS, failed due to "unable to unmount".
rebooted from the Hackintosh bootdisk, launched Disk Utility and managed to Repair that disk partition - only said "Volume headers minor repairs" or something like that. That was 2-3 days ago. And nothing else notable besides that.
Today - turn PC on, starts wheezing, halts to a full stop (power down) after about 2 seconds . Now what ? Should I change the power source ? I probably should as it has been wheezing for a abut last 4 yeaars...
