    Default Significant slow downs when time machine is doing its thing!

    lately when time machine is performing its backup my apps are freezing and the computer overall is slow. i used Yasu to clean it and i even bought an extra 4gb of ram, thats 8 GIGS! and its still slow. when time machine is not backing up, its working fine. i dunno what the issue is. it started a couple weeks ago. anyone else having this issue?

    here are my specs:

    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
    Intel Q9300 OC to 3.1Ghz
    Nvidia e-Geforce 8600 GT
    4GB PC2-8500
    Segate 1 TB sata
    Linksys WMP54GS
    8GB DDR2 PC8500

    As yousaid time machine is a backup that means it is going thru every file on your hard disk to copy it to another disk .. that's where the bottleneck is ... nothing to do with your RAM ... backup when you are not using your system that much ( that is why enterprise backups are usually done in the middle of night )

    I mean I understand what you mean, but I just never had this issue in the past, only recently. But I guess I understand more now cuz I just realized that I have been downloading a lot of movies and such so that will take longer to backup. I'll see if I can adjust the time of backup in TM but I doubt it. Thanks
