Dell 1520 cannot wake from sleep mode
I have just installed leopard on my dell 1520 using iatkos v7 and when it boots up right before the log in screen the computer will try to go to sleep but only the monitor will turn off and nothing else will happen.
also when i put it to sleep it will do the same thing.
i cannot find a way to turn the monitor back on either.
the only way I can boot is to show the boot screen on an external monitor and then at the log in screen the screen will jump back to the laptop and not attempt to go into sleep mode.
so, does anyone know a way to completely disable sleep mode or fix this problem so that sleep mode works?
thanks in advance!

It looks like there are different issues.
What is your specs?

here's my specs:
CPU: core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz T5250
Chipset: GMA X3100
Ram: 2 GB
WiFi: 1390 802.11g Mini Card Wireless
Hope this is sufficient!
also my issue is not actually not being able to wake from sleep but that on startup after the boot screen I lose my monitor unless I close the lid for 10 minutes or so.
I have seen other people with this problem but have not seen any solutions

That is why I thought there are separate problems. Sleep is always troublesome with OSX, but that is secondary. Your main problem is video related, incorrect kexts are most likely.
1. You can find and install correct kexts for it if that is simple enough.
2. For the mean time, you can navigate to /S/L/E and move the kexts out of that folder and to another folder of choice (on desktop maybe, don't delete them just in case you need any of those), then restart with -x -v -f to see if you can force it back to VESA generic video mode.
Those kexts would be: AppleIntelGMA950.kext, AppleIntelX3100.kext and AppleIntelX3100FB.kext.

Thanks for the input, I got the problem all sorted out (wrong video drivers)
I have an issue with my soundcard not being recognized and none of the appleHDA patches have worked
anyone know a way to fix this?
I really do not want to go to the VooDooHDA because it gives me bad static through my speakers.
