Default what baseband currently ships on OTB phones? Can we sticky a post about this?

I seems like it would be a good Idea to have one sticky that just reports what version of the baseband is shipping each week and if that version is "unlockable"

I have been holding off on getting the iphone 4 thinking they were going to "fix the antenna when they released white version" but doesn't look that is happening any time soon.

This isn't a bad idea. However it is very hard to say.. Different regions and countries recieve different stock, some get new iOS version/baseband very quickly, others not so quickly. Can take a month or more for all regions to catch up stock wise with a baseband refresh.

People are always looking for a quick guide or "rule of thumb" but often end up misunderstanding that this is just a rough indication. Take for example the "week number" old bootrom thing for the 3GS, this was interpreted as "anything below week 45" is okay. But it was actually "week 40-45 of 2009 is a grey area, you might get an old bootrom or you might not". We have seen people buying week 8 of 2010 thinking that they were guaranteed an old bootrom because the information that spread around just said week 40 or 45 not which year.

Default so there is no point in buying an iphone 4 with goal to unlock now

so there is no point to buy an iphone 4 OTB at an apple store right now if my goal is to unlock it,

    correct?

That's all I want a sticky to say.

List approximately (!) when each baseband was released, and if there is an unlock solution for that baseband.

I have a feeling I'll be waiting until Iphone 5 comes out...
