unlocked iPhone connecting to the wrong carrier
I unlocked my iPhone using jailbreakme.com and loading ultrasnow .93 from cydia and it worked. However, I see the wrong carrier name in the top left corner and when I open settings I get an option to select the carrier, none of which are for the carrier I use. According to the manual if you see this option you are roaming and being charged roaming rates. Is this true?

Depends.. is the carrier you see the real operator (ie do you have a sim card from a virtual carrier? one who does not have their own complete network and simply rents it from another carrier)
For example - I have an iPhone with a Norwegian Tele2 SIM, it always shows N Netcomm as the carrier name - that is the actual real operator, Tele2 does not have their own network and rents capacity from Netcomm Norway.

I'm in Spain. I have Yoigo and they have their own network and "Yoigo" is what is displayed on my normal phone. On the iPhone it says "Movistar", which it was origonally locked to.
