    Default Ultrasn0w Battery/Signal Strength Issues

Had no battery issues after jailbreaking 3.0 with Pwnage. However, battery life is draining 3x faster now after unlocking with Ultrasn0w. Edge signal strength (T-Mobile USA) is also weaker on the iPhone as to compared to the reception from using the same SIM card on a Sidekick. Have tried all of the suggested solutions floating online to no avail. Push notifications do work via activating with an AT&T SIM.

    Default Holy crap

I'm going on a trip to Europe soon, so I installed ultrasn0w, the battery is dropping over four % in less than two minutes, this is rediculous!
I've tried the airplane mode toggle and disabling the push/fetch and now it seems under control, i'd hate to have a phone in a new country that is dead all the time, it is definatley not the 3.0 software update, the ultrasn0w is the culprit !
I will restore and re-jalbreak to ensure this dosent happen again ...
Im not angry at the dev team, neither should any of you guys, hey it works! I'm glad we are this far,

IF YOUR IPHONE 3G HAS RAPIDLY DECLINING BATTERY LIFE AFTER, OR SOON AFTER INSATLLING ULTRASN0W , FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS:

    1. Toggle airplane mode on and off
    2. Turn fetch/push data off , and set check manually,

    3. Restore iPhone if needed!

Ever since I updated ultrasn0w and Mobile Substrate yesterday, it's been dropping like that too.

*EDIT* It's getting pretty significant now. I haven't been able to have a full charge the latter half of the day today. I'm going to uninstall ultrasn0w until the Dev Team solves this issue.

My phone is also incredibly hot on the backside since updating. Anyone else having this issue?

Updated firmware last night from 2.2.1 to 3.0, used pwnage to jailbreak and ultrasnow to unlock - all fine. Had iPhone hooked up to laptop whilst syncing all data and never reached a full charge. Plugged up for the night and woke to find battery down to 1% despite being connected to charger - and yes, the back casing is pretty hot. Any fixes yet?

Ok, four hours later and having turned off the 'locate your iphone' push feature only, and battery drain appears to be quite normal now. Mobile me email push still active, 3g is off (that drained the battery quicker on 2.2 anyway)and casing back to its normal temp. So for me, it's the 'locate your iphone' push that seems to be at fault...

I don't have MobileMe and had this problem.

I don't think this problem is ultrasn0w. After uninstalling ultrasn0w, my phone still had the overheating issue. I restored the phone and reinstalled cydia and ultrasn0w and everything's fine now.

did any body solve these problems?
i still have excessive battery drain problems only with gsm on [plane mode off] if i leave the iphone on overnight the battery will die completly.
the problems are only with ultrasn0w before installing it i used the iphone we wifi full brightness push etc and the battery only decreased very slowly as normal on 2.2.1
the update from ultrasn0w 0.6 to 0.8 did not solve the problem
any idea if this will be solved soon, i already did 2 restores with redsn0w 0.7
did the redsn0w 0.8 change anything? or is it just and upgrade for the 3gs?

    Default Restoring battery endurance

toggle push to off, set email update to manual and battery life is pretty much back to normal. I wish I'd thought to measure battery life before updating the OS from 2.21 to know for sure.
