Hey guys, brand new to the forum. I currently regularly use a Samsung Jack with the unlimited data ATT (grandfathered). Mom had a 3g that she had left to move on to awhile ago. So I figured I'd try to use the old 3g because I was having issues with the Jack which I have since fixed ironically...

To make a long story short 48 hours ago I didn't know anything about jailbreaking and now I have an Iphone 3g that is jailbroken/unlocked with baseband 6.15.0 compliments of redsnow/ultrasnow. I had to restore a couple times so i ended up having to revert to 4.1 so I could get recboot to pull me out of recovery when I got the 1015 error.

Anyway! My issue is that I have tried everything I could think of to get the sim card out of my jack to work with this phone. The phone actually worked un-tampered with for a weekend. I made the mistake of restoring the phone before realizing I didn't have to and it tried to activate with the sim and ever since it gives me the 'No data plan' message. I can make calls and send texts and all that but it has just got me stone walled on the 3g data. Tried tinkering with the settings, reverting, restoring, toggling, unlocking, etc. I activated the phone without a sim through redsnow last night. I also tried to activate it with the original, but decommissioned, sim but still the same ends.

Am I just SOL or is there a way around this?

Not sure if I chose the wrong forum or not, doesn't seem to be too many having this issue post unlock apparently. Anyway just an update I did load the comm-center update just to see if it would have any effect on it and it did not. Back to the drawing board.

I got kinda frustrated bothering with this things... After a weeks away from messing with it I decided to give it another go.

So, the "Could not activate cellular data network you are not subscribed to a cellular data service" I was getting with my non Iphone ATT sim, that was the result of restoring the Iphone with the improper sim was remedied by this site: Unlockit - APN Changer for your iPhone

So I now have my Iphone working with my grandfathered data plan, from a non Iphone ATT SIM. Finally I can enjoy this thing. :^) Ironically I work for Apple too.
