So in this tutorial, iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak and Unlock Your iPhone 3G Using RedSn0w (Windows) [4.2.1], it says that it gives you an option of updating your baseband to 06.15 does that mean if I refuse it will leave my baseband and unlock alone?

The reason is that when you do it this way:
- You use iTunes to update or restore to 4.2.1 with a regular IPSW. This step will upgrade your baseband.
- Then you run redns0w to jailbreak. At this point it is too late, your baseband is already updated.
Don't be confused by the "update baseband" feature of redsn0w, that is a totally separate thing.
Custom IPSW is the ONLY way to preserve your baseband on a 3G or 3GS. We ONLY recommend PwnageTool for making custom IPSW.
However I don't have access to a Mac, is it possible to do it with a PC?
