Ultrasn0w fails to work on jailbroken iPhone 3G iOS 4.0.2 after dozens of attempts
I recently moved from the U.S. to Canada and managed to get my iPhone unlocked under iOS 4.0.1. For some unknown reason my iPhone 3G 16GB got locked again yesterday.
First I tried to unlock it under iOS 4.0.1 by removing and reinstalling ultrasn0w 1.1-1, but it didn't work. I then did everything I could possibly find on the web: resetting the network settings, installing ultrasn0w with 3G turned off, installing ultrasn0w with no SIM card, installing ultrasn0w with the old AT&T SIM card I brought from the states, installing ultrasn0w with TELUS SIM card, rebooting multiple times, doing everything upside down while kneeling and praying...
For your information, my cellular provider is TELUS.
I am beginning to question whether the success cases are all but a fluke. On the other hand, I was using an unlocked iPhone just last Friday.
Now I am back at it again. I have completely erased and restored my iPhone and also upgraded to iOS 4.0.2. Jailbreaking it with Redsn0w worked like a charm, but installing ultrasn0w and rebooting still did nothing.
The phone still tells me that I have selected a restricted network.
Please help! I will be sure to share my success story once there is one.
