ultrasn0w draining battery?

what i find is with one network in my country it keeps dropping calls losing signal when APN and password and user name are in, from the time i take them out the phone works OK. and i am getting only 4 to 5 hour talk time with this new 3.0:fail

I have the same problem. I jaibreak, install Ultrasnow (only) and since then my battery sucks. I had the 3.0 for weeks now and it was ok!

I have legal 3G and used it with 3.0 a while before unlocking with ultrasnow to use abroad with a local sim. And after the battery doesnt last for a whole day and also many times I have to wait a while for the applications to respond, which didnt happened before.
How does ultrasnow work? Is it using the cpu a lot and draining the battery and making the phone slow?

Since v3, my signal has been better than ever. Makes me think if ultrasn0w isn`t configured to increase scanning or something, that could be the cause of the draining.

I have unlock a couple iphones for my customers and so far a few have started complaining about the battery life problem; not lasting long. I have read through this thread and I am confused about what exactly is causing the problem, because one person say they unlock there phone "legally" which I assume is by imei. And others use Ultrasn0w like myself and all reported the same problem; battery life short. Can it be then concluded that it is the OS?

Please give us solution to fix this. Thanks.

my 2cents. We have 2 iphone 3Gs on O2 UK, both on 3.0 unlocked with untrasnOw and one on O2 and the other on Vodafone. Both are using push email and 3G and bluetooth for the cars and wifi setting set to on all day plus location services and each battery lasts perfectlyall day, infact it hardly goes down past the first or second section. Just wonder if we are the exception? I know Dev Team are looking into this battery problem, but I have not read that many people complaining and thought I should report that some iphones are not having this problem.

yeah, I have noticed weaker battery with 3.0 on my 3G. Could this be something like model specific, as in the week when it was made, like back in the days with the bootloader thing? Push DEFINETLY KILLS your battery.... I had mine forgotten on 15 minutes, an my battery would last me 30 minutes........... crazy........... of course, jailbroken and unlocked with ultrasnow.............
