No GPS after ultrasnow.

Has anybody else noticed this.
After I did an ultra snow my GPS isnt working.
On my 2G it still works using tower triangulation.

On my 3G no matter how many times I try it says cant locate you.

How do I turn back on GPS.
I tried the reset everything location on/off etc.

When I first used the GPS after updating my 3G to 3.0 using ultrasn0w I had a similar issue. It located my position at first (using triangulation) then it never locked in to my exact location and never updated my position as I moved on the bus.

I decided to turn turn airplane mode on and off to reset all of the radios hoping that it would re-activate my GPS. Amazingly it came right back and worked without any issue since then. It's been 4 days now without any problems.

I am having the same issue. I tried rebooting and it worked when i first use the maps after the reboot, but then again it stopped working. I am still testing but i am thinking that once maps uses triangulation, the GPS stopps functioning until you reboot ... just my .02 cents

can other people confirm this? FYI, i am using the 3G 16GB.

Also would appreciate if someone had a soltution to this problem.

I did an upgrade to Ver 3.0 on both my 2g and 3g.
The 3G seems to have lost GPS.

It also so happens that we have a lot of cloud cover here. So can clouds or cloud cover effect your GPS from working.

i dont think so... but i dont know anything about that stuff lol. i [U]think[U] its just because theirs still a few glitches. this is basically beta 5 in my opinion. it has almost all the same problems. i wish i still had beta 4 to be honest.

But can we have some help here for those with problems like No GPS, no Service.

At the very least can somebody explain what the switches used do. And how to decode errors in the error log.

As a personal experience, cloud cover affects GPS. On the same area with a clean sky the GPS coverage is excellent, but with cloud cover the iphone does not find any satellite. It shouldn't affect, but id does.

Have you tried a hard reboot (ie holding Power and Home together until the phone reboots)?

So I did a restore loosing all my apps. Both Cydia and Appstore.
Installed the sim the phone came with. Which is O2 Pay and Go.

Did a Restore.
Activated via Itunes.
Checked GPS = Working

Installed Cydia via Redsnow still on legit sim.
GPS working

Udated Cydia
GPS working.

Installed my local Sim
No connection natrually becasue I havent installed Ultrasnow yet.
GPS working

Installed Ultrasnow
Installed Local Sim
GPS = Not working.

Now the key issue here is that to get ultrasnow to work. I have to turn off 3G. When I turn off 3G the GPS stops working.

Maybe this will help the Dev team.

Now I dont know if the position of the 3G switch is critical to the running and installing of Redsnow and Ultrasnow.

Ok Re-did everything except this time. While it was on the original SIm and working I went to maps and droped a pin.
Now I have GPS working even with 3G off and with my local sim.

Was having this problem earlier, GPS stopped working, I simply removed ultrasn0w through Cydia and it suddenly started working again.

GPS wouldn't locate if I had my SIM in, but worked fine on Wifi and with my SIM removed. Removed ultrasn0w package and it works perfectly with SIM and Wifi now. Thought I should share.
