Hi All,

I have jailbroken my iphone 3gs using a 4.2.1 custom image file created using pwnage 4.2.
My IOS is 4.2.1 and the baseband is 6.15.
Everything appears to go well...I restore the iphone using itunes then I configure cydia (I don't update it first) and install ultrasn02 1.2.

However, I then insert my SIM card and the no service message is displayed.
I get the No service message after the phone searches, 1 signal block/ cheese is visible then disappears and the no service message is displayed.
When I go to settings>general>about, the network is listed unavailable and if I navigate further the "phone not allowed" entry is displayed.

I stupidly decided to update the iphone to 4.2.1 (was running 3x) when I first activated the iphone so I could jailbreak/ unlock it, even though I am on the Vodafone UK network and I have a Vodafone SIM card.

This is a massive pain in the arse as this was a gift from my wife and I can't use it.

Sorry in advance if this has been answered but I couldn't find anything on the forum.

What carrier is the phone locked to?

Could the phone have been IMEI blacklisted?

This was a gift from my wife who bought it from Vodafone (without a contract) so I doubt whether it has been blacklisted.

To remove this problem, how can I check this?

I have done a field test and the signal was -113 which wasn't good.

I put my SIM in my wife iphone 3gs (not jailbroken) and the reading is -79 and I have a signal and can make/receive phone calls.
